AI Unsuccessful in Identifying Carpal Bones In this test, we evaluated AI performance in identifying carpal bones. We provided the AI with a labeled X-ray and a labeled anatomical model, both clearly numbered. The AI was then asked three focused questions: which bone has poor blood supply and is prone to nonunion, which bone is associated with Kienböck disease, and which bone is the capitate. The AI responded using only the numbers. Now it is up to the viewer to compare those answers with the correct anatomy and decide how accurate the AI was. Between us, all three answers were incorrect.
