Birds Meet: Bird Strike

Window strikes are one of the most common but overlooked threats facing birds in urban environments. While glass collisions are well documented overseas, far less is known about how Australian birds are affected. In this Birds Meet webinar, host Dr. Holly Parsons from BirdLife Australia is joined by Dr Rochelle Stevens (Murdoch University) to explore new research drawing on community reports from large bird-focused social media groups across Australia. The discussion highlights which species are most at risk, including common urban birds and those making shorter migrations through our towns and cities, and how urbanisation can amplify these risks. This webinar also looks at what individuals and communities can do to help reduce window strikes and make our built environments safer for birds.
