She Survived Abuse… Now She Just Wants a Family

Miss Tonya has been waiting at the shelter since January 2025. When she arrived, she had bite marks all over her face, a severe oil burn on her back, and a huge lock and chain around her neck. Shelter staff believe she may have been used to test or train dogs for fighting because of how small, sweet, and docile she is. But Tonya is still full of love. After 16 months at the shelter, she has made incredible progress. She has learned to trust again, has done well in playgroups, and has even been a playgroup superstar. She can be selective with dogs, and she’ll need someone patient who can help her continue working through leash reactivity. Inside a home, she is perfect. She’s potty trained, cuddly, gentle, and just wants a safe place to finally be loved. Tonya deserves her second chance.
