Description

Donald Trump has told European countries that have refused to back the war in Iran: “go get your own oil”. The US President made the comments on his Truth Social media platform. The price of oil rose on global markets following his tirade. Some countries in Europe have actively opposed the military action, such as Spain which has denied the US use of bases and airspace, Mr Trump also wrote: “… all of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran” should buy US oil instead. King Charles is to travel to the United States on an official visit, to mark the country’s 200th anniversary of independence. The visit will come at at time of strain between Washington and London, due to the UK’s decision not to back the Iran war. Lebanon had denounced plans for what it calls an occupation of Lebanese territory by Israel, which plans to create a buffer zone inside the country, as it continues its attacks on Hezbollah fighters backed by Iran.
