その手があったか！逆転の発想で生まれた”くそスマート”な自転車盗難の防止術

詳しくはこちら👉 https://moov.ooo/article/5eb9f0e41b05ee0697dd1e44 日本で最も多発している犯罪は「自転車の盗難」 警察庁が発表している「刑法犯に関する統計資料」によると、2019年の自転車盗難の認知件数は16万8703件。2018年は約18万人、2017年は約20万人、2016年は約23万人と、件数は徐々に減りつつはある。 しかし、いずれの年も約40％が施錠中の自転車を狙った犯行だという。 鍵をしていてもダメ。では、どうすれば自転車を守れるのか？ 窃盗の手口が巧妙化するにつれ、自転車の鍵もどんどん頑強になっている。街乗りしていると、デカくて重そうな鍵の掛かった自転車をよく見かける。 治安の良くない国にいくと必ず店舗の窓に設置されてる鉄格子を思い出す。 そんな自転車盗難に一石を投じたのが「鳥のうんちシール」。名前のとおり、鳥のうんちソックリの白い形をしたステッカー。 自転車を駐輪する際、サドルに貼り付けるだけで、自転車泥棒は盗むのを避けるようになるという防犯グッズ。 2015年にヴィレッジバンガードで発売されたに端を発し、今年3月初旬に、クラウドファンディングサイト「Makuake」にて自転車盗難防止グッズの「鳥のうんちサドルカバー」とともに、開発プロジェクトがスタートした。 調査：ホントに鳥のうんちに見える？ 鳥のフンを公園などでよく見かけるであろう渋谷の街行く若者を中心に、「鳥のうんちシール」が本当に鳥のうんちにみえるか調査してみた。 調査方法 自転車防犯の調査用インタビューとして自身が持っている自転車に対する質問をいくつかし、自転車の話の流れへもっていく。そして、暖まったところで「僕の自転車が最近 災難にあったんです、見てくださいよ」と言って、サドルに鳥のフンシールが付いている自転車を見せる。「鳥のフンがついてるじゃないですか！」とどれぐらいの人がいうのか検証。 結果と考察 10人に声をかけて1人だけ。プロダクトの尊厳を崩しかねない厳しい結果である。 しかし、なぜ鳥のフンに思えなかった理由について訪ねたところ、この調査の欠陥点も浮かび上がった。 ——はじめ鳥のフンにみえたけど、注意して見たらステッカーっぽさが目立つ ——サドルがデザインされているので、デザインの一部に見えて「カワイイ」と思った ——白い部分がキレイな白すぎる。ホンモノはもっと濁ってる。これまで3回フンを落とされた私はわかる ——サドルじゃなく、自転車の他の部分に目が行った 　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　・　・　・ 本当に効果があるかどうかはこれからわかることだが、発想は面白い。 農薬ではなく、天敵を投入することで害虫を駆除し、農作物を守るオーガニック農法のように、人の嫌いな「汚いもの」を利用して自転車を守るのは、オーガニック防犯術ともいえる。 頑丈な鍵×鳥のうんち、いわゆる「テクノロジー」×「自然」で、「自転車盗難被害を減らす」という一つの崇高な目的が達成される日は近い……ハズ。 2020年6月11日 19:30 追記 Makuakeの「鳥のうんちシール」は、目標金額20万円の275％となる総額45万円もの資金を集め、無事プロジェクトは成功。サポーターは279人にのぼった。 予定通り5月18日に「鳥のうんちシール」は発送済みで、追って6月中に「鳥のうんちサドルカバー」も発送される予定だ。まだ製品化の情報などは発表されていないが、今後の活動についてもMakuakeページで発表されるとのことなので、気になる人はウォッチしてみてほしい。 For more details 👉 https://moov.ooo/article/5eb9f0e41b05ee0697dd1e44 Bicycle Theft Is the Most Common Crime in Japan According to crime statistics released by the National Police Agency, there were 168,703 reported cases of bicycle theft in 2019. The number has been gradually decreasing—about 180,000 cases in 2018, 200,000 in 2017, and 230,000 in 2016. Still, in every one of these years, around 40% of stolen bikes had been locked. So even locking your bike isn’t enough. How can you really protect it? As theft methods become more sophisticated, bike locks have become bulkier and tougher. When riding around the city, it’s not uncommon to see bikes secured with huge, heavy chains—almost like the iron grilles you see on store windows in countries with higher crime rates. But one quirky item has appeared to shake things up in the fight against bike theft: the “Bird Poop Sticker.” Just as the name suggests, it’s a white sticker designed to look exactly like bird droppings. You simply stick it on your saddle when parking your bike, and supposedly, bike thieves will avoid stealing a bike that looks dirty. The product first appeared at Village Vanguard in 2015 and later resurfaced in early March this year when a crowdfunding project launched on Makuake, along with a “Bird Poop Saddle Cover.” Survey: Does It Really Look Like Bird Poop? Since bird droppings are commonly seen in parks, especially around Shibuya, the team decided to ask young people walking by whether the sticker truly resembles real bird poop. Survey Method The interviewer began by asking general questions about bicycle security. After the conversation warmed up, they casually said, “My bike had a bit of bad luck recently—take a look.” They then showed a bike with the bird poop sticker on the saddle and checked how many people would say, “There’s bird poop on it!” Results & Thoughts Out of 10 people approached, only one person pointed it out. A harsh outcome that might undermine the dignity of the product.
