VetMAP is ME | Massey University

The VetMAP pathway at Massey University is so much more than a route into the BVSc - it’s a whānau. In this video, our students share how VetMAP has given them a place to stand, a community where their stories, cultures, and identities are honoured. Through genuine pastoral care, cultural grounding, and shared experiences, VetMAP becomes a home away from home, supporting Māori and Pacific students not just academically but as whole people on their journey into veterinary science. Open to domestic students of Māori or indigenous Pacific descent, VetMAP is built on the values of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and strong Pacific partnerships, drawing on proven models like MAPAS to guide and uplift students from day one. At its heart, the pathway aims to empower future Māori and Pacific veterinarians and contribute to a more representative veterinary profession in Aotearoa New Zealand; nurturing confident, connected graduates who bring their full selves into the field.
