Description

This contracted shoot I'm out with Bucket and hunting invasive feral pigs on freshly harvested wheat stubble. There's 100's of killshots in this video running a Wedgetail Industries WT25 chambered in 308win, fitted with the brand new Thermion 2 LRF XL60 1024x768 HD thermal rifle scope. If you're seeking a video with bulk shooting footage and no bullshit (maybe a little), this is your happy place !!! Big thanks to my unnamed mate "Bucket", great team work, and amazing results for the client. Yes, this is "work," and we are out shooting from late afternoon nearly right through till dawn. But that doesn't mean we don't get to have a few laughs in the process. We are out cruising around in my 4x4 for mobility, which is a 2024 VW Amarok Style 600. This vehicle is undergoing quite the custom build ATM, but in this video it only had the bullbar, lights, suspension, and new wheels and tyres fitted. Also back in play is the EORB E-Bike as we silently chew up feral pigs out in these big open paddocks. Certainly an effective combination. Very easy to slip that on and off the rear rack for transport with two people, quickly close the gap and shoot. Rinse, repeat !!! For thermal scanner duties, I'm running the amazing Pulsar Merger LRF XT50 thermal binoculars in a chest rig. I'm yet to use a device it's equal in image and functionality in all aspects. This IMO is the best thermal scanner you can buy as of filming this video in 2025. It's always hard for some to comprehend the wastage on this type of gig when it's shoot and move on. Remember, we are being paid to drop feral and pest animals, not spend half the night chopping up animals. I'm willing to be honest on how a lot of jobs run, so please respect that angle as one which is often the role as a paid shooter. We are not shooting feral pigs for human consumption on this trip. It is purely pest control of invasive species in Australia. These uncontrolled animals are an environmental and agricultural menace, often carrying bacteria and diseases like brucellosis. Pigs are left where they lay as carrion. Nothing generally lasts more than a week in the Aussie bush before it's just a few scattered remains. I am a vertebrate pest control - contract shooter in NSW. For those wondering about the equipment being used, both my mate and I hold the necessary permits and licences when working under paid contracts in NSW. This isn't recreational hunting, it's professional pest control. If you are seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details in your state. All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services. Please don't ask how much I earn or how to become a contract shooter. I'm not a business adviser. The requirements and information vary state by state. If seeking this information, research your own states legislation. I get this question a LOT, and it's not a path I wish to go down on social media. Call to action - If you would like to see the continuation of YouTube channels like mine or others.
