On the show this week we’re joined by Angie Walters, the Host Iwi Coordinator for this year’s Taranaki Tū Mai in Ōpunakē. This biennial festival is a celebration of whakapapa, culture, and kotahitanga, bringing together the eight iwi of Taranaki for three days of connection, learning, and fun. While hākinakina (sports) is a big part of the kaupapa, Taranaki Tū Mai is so much more—it’s about wānanga, kapa haka, hikoi, and strengthening the health and wellbeing of our people.
