Shocking dashcam footage shows e-bike hit-and-run on 86-year-old woman

A teenager who rode an illegal e-bike that knocked down and killed an 86-year-old great-grandmother on a zebra crossing has been jailed for six years and nine months. Billy Stokoe, 19, was under the influence of cannabis when he collided with Gloria Stephenson while riding an unregistered and defective electric Sur-Ron bike on the B1286 Burdon Road in Sunderland, on 16 May last year. He held his mobile phone in his left hand despite the left-sided brake being the only one that worked, Newcastle Crown Court heard, and rode for half-a-mile in that manner. Stokoe admitted causing death by dangerous driving.
