Born in Lahore, Dr. Aamir Butt completed his MBBS from Rawalpindi Medical College before moving to the United Kingdom, where he built a distinguished career in the National Health Service as a consultant dermatologist. He also served as a senior lecturer at a medical school. He has lived in England for the past 30 years. Following partial retirement in 2021, he divides his time between Hull, the fourth-largest city in the Yorkshire and the Humber region, and Lahore, Pakistan’s second most populous city, devoting himself to his longstanding interests in history, literature, and Urdu poetry. He regularly contributes articles on literary, historical, and cultural themes to various newspapers and digital platforms. Dr. Butt is the author of two notable works: Lahore: Places, People, Stories (AKS Publications, 2023) and Pre-Partition Evolution of Progressive Urdu Poetry in Lahore (AKS Publications, 2024). ************************************ Shakil Chaudhary is a journalist, author, and researcher.
