USAF F-15C EAGLES IN GERMANY: Air Defender 2024 was a large-scale NATO air defense exercise held in Germany from June 12 to June 23, 2024. Led by the German Air Force, it involved extensive military air operations across European airspace. During the exercise, certain airspace regions in Germany were reserved for military use for several hours each day, leading to temporary disruptions in civilian air traffic. Hohn Air Base hosted several F-15C as well as EA-18G units. USAF AC-130J visit to Ramstein: The AC-130J Ghostrider is the U.S. Air Force's most heavily armed gunship, designed for close air support, air interdiction, and armed reconnaissance missions. Based on the C-130J Super Hercules, it features a 30mm GAU-23/A cannon, a 105mm howitzer, and can carry precision-guided munitions like AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and GBU-39 Small Diameter Bombs. Some years ago we have been able to catch Angry Annie 14-5787 arrivinginto ETAR. It was deployed to the middle east and was heading back home via Greece and Germany. USAF C-17 10-0223: Approximately a week after I caught the C-17 arriving into Stuttgart, the aircraft was heavily damaged in a ground fire, which spread in the area of the undercarriage and landing gear. The aircraft was ferried to SKF for heavy maintanance.
