Two men hospitalised after stabbing incident on Carlton’s busy restaurant strip

#gridsparta #bikies Two men were left critically injured after a brutal group machete attack on lygon Street in Carlton, just before midnight on New Year’s Eve. The victims who are an 18 year old man from New South Wales and a 20 year old man from Heidelberg West, were walking toward the Argyle Place intersection when they stopped outside The Balcony Shisha Bar to speak with another young man. Within moments they were ambushed by a group of up to seven offenders dressed in tracksuits, hoods and face coverings. The attackers were armed with machetes and knives. CCTV footage shows around 15 seconds of this brute attack, with both victims suffering serious injuries. One man ran into the shisha bar seeking safety before collapsing inside, while the other ran toward a nearby juice bar where he fell bleeding heavily.
