Description
The song & calls of the Little Shrikethrush - a superb songster of Australia's rainforest. This species is heard more often than seen, with its drab plumage and tendency to forage quietly in the forest midstorey. The song of the Little Shrikethrush consists of loud, rich, fluty phrases. They also make a number of calls including loud, sharp notes, whistles and harsh grating sounds.
The Little Shrike-thrush (Colluricincla megarhyncha) calls in this video were recorded in Daintree National Park, Queensland, Australia. This subspecies is sometimes called Rufous Shrikethrush.
