Scuba divers are surrounded by majestic spotted eagle rays

Spotted eagle rays are majestic animals that swim so gracefully that they appear to be flying. These stingrays congregated in great numbers in the current at Wolf Island in the Galapagos. The lucky scuba divers who are filming them had perched themselves on the rocks to have a look at the sharks, sea turtles, and rays that pass through these waters. The rays appeared as they drifted slowly on the strong ocean current, barely flapping as they moved in slow motion. Eagle rays have powerful jaws that can crush the shells of crustaceans and even large conch shells. They also curious and highly intelligent, possessing the ability to remember and reason surprisingly well. These eagle rays have become accustomed to humans in the water and they occasionally pass close enough to scuba divers to have an inquisitive look right into their eyes. To see such beautiful and graceful creatures is a very memorable experience.
