Before anything, this video certainly takes "liberties" with the definition of a Special Grade. For what I consider to be "Special Grade" it's 50% of the stories qualifications of "conquering a country" while having an ability that lies beyond the normal power system, things that normally cannot be "contained or quantified" such as Yuki's infinite virtual mass, or Gojo's ability to manipulate space. On the other hand, it's also 50% of my own powerscaling and characters who can rival those who are defined to have "Special Grade" qualities. Marulu can flip the entire world upside down, while having the strength to cut Tsurugi open. He is very clearly a "Special Grade' even if the story has never stated it outright. But then there are the anomalies—the ones who don’t just play within the system, but actively break it. These anomalies are known as Special Grade Sorcerers. They are not simply “stronger” than others; they exist on an entirely different axis of power. Their cursed techniques warp reality, their presence reshapes battlefields, and their existence forces the jujutsu world to rewrite its own rules just to account for them. Special Grades are walking disasters—individuals whose strength cannot be reliably measured, contained, or predicted. Where most sorcerers fight curses, Special Grades stand as forces that rival calamities themselves. Jujutsu, at its core, is meant to be a balanced system of technique, strategy, and control—but Special Grades expose the cracks in that balance. They overwhelm strategy with raw dominance, ignore ceilings that others slam into, and turn concepts like “fair fights” into jokes. They are the exceptions that prove the system was never meant to hold them, and every era of jujutsu is defined by how the world responds to their existence. In this video, I’ll be breaking down the true anomalies of Jujutsu Kaisen: the Special Grade Sorcerers. We’ll examine what makes them different, why they’re treated as outliers rather than benchmarks, and how each one distorts the power structure of the series simply by existing. This is a deep dive into the characters that redefine what strength even means in Jujutsu Kaisen.
