Description
First full day exploring Porto and Gaia. Follow along to see what we've been up to. We didn't have anything planned for the first day, just wanted to walk around and explore and see where we would end up. Honestly, was so fun.
Our hotel had a promotion where breakfast was included with your full stay and we took advantage. After breakfast we went to find a small market for some essentials like water. But, we got distracted along the way. Found the cutest little playground right on Duoro River in Gaia and detoured that way for the kids to explore.
Right above us were the cable cars. Of course, we bought roundtrip tickets to visit Porto across the Duoro river. That was such a fun experience for all of us. At the top of the cable car station, the Luis Bridge is right there to walk across. This is a must. You get the best views.
After walking, it started sprinkling harder and kids were tired. We booked a 1 hour tuktuk tour of Porto and Gaia. Great compromise. We didn't have any plans for dinner so we headed back to our hotel using the roundtrip cable car ticket. We decompressed at the hotel and booked a last minute reservation at a highly rated Korean BBQ restaurant right next to our hotel. Win. Win.
After dinner, we all still wanted to hang out and decided to explore our hotels rooftop bar. We grabbed dessert with the best view of Gaia and Porto.
