12th Avenue Railroad Crossing, Decatur, AL

*originally recorded on 2-9-26* Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a Safetran Type 3 electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO gate lights. Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x20 inch lights, a dying Safetran mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights. After catching A81 in Ryland, I knew they were going to stop to work at Chase, so I decided to continue on west to see if I could catch-up with 733 and beat it somewhere. Thankfully, I was able to get ahead of the empty coal train heading across the Tennessee River into Decatur, so I decided to race on over to this crossing to see if I could get them here. Thankfully, I was able to beat them with a bit of time to spare, and here we see this NS 733 with a friendly crew once again. Thankfully, nothing has changed to this crossing since I last recorded it.
