Description

DONATE: https://cuddly.com/donate/4958656/pickles/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organic Pickles was adopted from us in May 2025. We believed he had found the loving, stable home every rescue dog deserves. So when we received a call this week from his adopters saying they were going through a divorce and needed to surrender him, we were heartbroken but ready to welcome him back. What we were not prepared for was the condition he arrived in. Pickles came back to us severely emaciated and dehydrated. The bright, healthy little dog we remembered was now painfully thin, his body showing clear signs that something had been very wrong for quite some time. Then, things took a terrifying turn. Just days ago, Pickles began vomiting. Not long after, he was vomiting blood. We rushed him straight to the emergency vet, where he was immediately admitted for diagnostics and stabilization. An X-ray revealed a foreign object lodged inside his stomach that appears to have been there for days. We do not yet know exactly what it is. Our veterinary team at Guardian has also evaluated Leroy Pickles and believes he may be suffering from severe hemorrhagic gastritis of an unknown cause, a life-threatening condition that can cause sudden, intense gastrointestinal bleeding and rapid dehydration. Right now, veterinarians are trying to determine whether Pickles can safely pass the object on his own or if he will need emergency surgery to remove it. Because of how underweight and weak he already is, every hour matters. His emergency visit alone has already reached $1,600, and the cost will continue to rise as we monitor him, repeat imaging, and possibly move forward with surgery if the object does not pass. We said yes to helping him because he deserves a second chance. But we cannot cover the mounting medical costs alone. If you are able to donate, even a small amount will go directly toward Pickles’ emergency care and help ensure he receives whatever treatment is necessary to save his life. If donating is not possible, sharing his story can make just as big of a difference. Thank you. 📍Southern Paws Inc UPDATES: https://cuddly.com/donate/4958656/pickles/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=organic Love Animals?
