On January 10, 2026, a small nine-seater aircraft operated by IndiaOne Air, flying from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela, experienced a technical problem mid-air shortly before landing in Odisha. With a suspected malfunction in its system, the pilots declared an emergency “Mayday” as they approached Rourkela Airport and decided to make a forced crash landing in an open field near Jalda, about 10–15 km from the runway. Thanks to the skill and quick thinking of the pilots, who managed to control the aircraft despite the failure and perform a belly landing on a grassland, all six people on board — four passengers and the two pilots — survived the incident. The passengers sustained only minor injuries and are in stable condition, while the pilots, including the captain, were also hurt but safe. Officials and rescue teams reached the site quickly and shifted everyone to hospitals in Rourkela for treatment.
