Spot is just one year old and still so full of life—but he’s on the euthanasia list due to a treatable condition. We have less than 24 hours to save him. That’s it. After being found neglected, left in a home where no one cared for him, Spot is now out of time. We are determined to give this precious boy a better life, but unless we can raise enough funds to pull him before his deadline, none of that will matter. We need your support ASAP! All we know about Spot’s past is that he lived in a home with multiple people, and his actual owner hadn’t been seen in days. The people living in the unit often locked Spot outside. They didn’t care for him. And as his hair fell out, and his skin turned red, they couldn’t be bothered to bring him to a veterinarian. Eventually, Spot wound up at the shelter, wide-eyed and unsure. When shelter volunteers first approached Spot’s kennel, he was trembling with fear. What kind of treatment had this sweetheart endured at human hands if that was his reaction? But as soon as he was let out of his kennel, Spot completely transformed. This sweetheart is pure joy, all wiggles and energy. He would make a wonderful companion for someone one day—if he lives long enough to see that better life. Our team is eager to pull Spot from the shelter before his deadline in less than 24 hours, but right now, we don’t have the funds to treat his skin condition, which we suspect is Demodex mange. Spot will need a skin scrape to determine what exactly he’s facing, and after that, he’ll need medications, vaccines, preventatives, and more. We have a plan to save him, but we need to raise $2,500 just to pull him safely and begin treatment. All too often, we are asked why we don’t save the euthanasia list pups and collect funds later, but the hard truth is that donations don’t always come. There are countless pups already depending on our team for healing and support, and we can’t put their well-being at risk to take in a dog with medical needs unless we have the necessary funds.
