Photographers - This is Just Plain Wrong

Photography ethics matter more than ever. In this episode, I break down a controversial example of staged photography being presented as reality and why that’s a serious problem for both professional and amateur photographers. As photographers, especially those working in documentary, street photography, and travel photography, we carry a responsibility to tell truthful stories. But what happens when images are staged, manipulated, or culturally inaccurate and still presented as authentic? That’s where trust begins to erode. I share my perspective after 20+ years working in Vietnam and explain how misleading imagery not only damages credibility but also misrepresents real cultures.
