Description
Photography ethics matter more than ever. In this episode, I break down a controversial example of staged photography being presented as reality and why that’s a serious problem for both professional and amateur photographers.
As photographers, especially those working in documentary, street photography, and travel photography, we carry a responsibility to tell truthful stories. But what happens when images are staged, manipulated, or culturally inaccurate and still presented as authentic? That’s where trust begins to erode.
I share my perspective after 20+ years working in Vietnam and explain how misleading imagery not only damages credibility but also misrepresents real cultures. This isn’t about attacking individuals, it’s about protecting the integrity of photography and understanding the difference between creating and documenting.
If you’re a Leica shooter, photojournalist, or someone trying to improve your photography, this is a conversation you need to hear.
