THE SEVEN GREAT CATEGORIES OF BIBLICAL PRAYER (From Genesis to Paul — KJB, rightly divided) 1️- Cry for HELP / DELIVERANCE (Times Past – Israel under pressure) These dominate the Old Testament. People cry out because they are in danger, bondage, famine, or war. Examples (FULL KJB) Psalm 34:6 This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. Psalm 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Exodus 14:10 And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD. Teaching note: Israel lives by visible rescue. 2️ -Prayer for MERCY & FORGIVENESS (Confession under Law) These appear constantly in David, Solomon, Daniel, Nehemiah. Daniel 9:18–19 O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies. O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name. Here forgiveness is requested repeatedly. 3️- Prayer for HEALING (Signs tied to Israel) Physical healing dominates the Gospels. Jeremiah 17:14 Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise. Matthew 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. Healing here is visible proof of Messiah to Israel. 4️- Prayer for COMFORT / PROTECTION Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 121:7–8 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. Again — earthly protection. 5️-Kingdom Prayers (Jesus teaches Israel how to pray) Matthew 6:9–10 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. This is NOT Body of Christ prayer. It is: 👉 Israel 👉 Kingdom 👉 Earth 6️- Prayer for ENDURANCE in Tribulation (Future Israel) Revelation returns to crying out. Revelation 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? Back to: • vengeance • rescue • visible judgment Prophetic program resumed. 7️- NOW THE REVELATION OF THE MYSTERY — PAUL Here is where everything changes. No cries for healing. No kingdom requests. No begging for forgiveness. Instead: 👉 thanksgiving 👉 spiritual strength 👉 inner man 👉 already complete in Christ PAUL’S PRAYERS (Representative SEVEN THEMES) 1. Thanksgiving for accomplished salvation Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: Already DONE. 2. Enlightenment, not rescue Ephesians 1:17–18 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 3. Strength in the inner man Ephesians 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 4. Assurance of completed forgiveness Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Not asking. Already forgiven. 5. Peace replaces healing signs Philippians 4:6–7 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 6. Acceptance of weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Paul is NOT healed. He learns grace. 7. Salvation is received, not requested Ephesians 2:8–9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Colossians 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
