TOP 10 MOST POWERFUL PEOPLE RUNNING WORLD SPORT

OMG...how to squeeze the most powerful people in world sport into a top ten list? Tell me who you'd put in, but you have to nominate who to leave out in their place. A quick word on my selections: first of all, my career has focussed very much on Olympic sports, so I have an eye to that environment. Secondly, there is plenty of reaction from my last list which tells me people think 'power' is a negative, it's not. Power is a position from which influence can be brought to bare - power over, power to, power with...it comes in all shades. This is not a list judging ethics or personal characteristics, it is simply those I think occupy ten of the most powerful positions in world sport - a combination of their position and their personalities, not always in the same mix.
