INGREDIENTS
Batter:
- 1 Cup Fine Semomlina/Sooji
- 1/4 Cup Yogurt/Dahi
- 1/8 Tsp Baking Soda
- Water - To make medium consistency batter
- Salt
Topping:
- 1 Cup Green Peas/Matar
- 1 Medium Onion
- 1/2 Cup Carrot
- 1 Tbsp Fresh Coriander/Dhaniya
- 1 Tbsp Mint Leaves/Pudina
- 1/4 Tsp Chilli Powder
- Salt
METHOD
- Take fine sooji/rava in a bowl. Add salt, yogurt and water and make a batter of medium consistency. Cover and set aside for 15-20 minutes.
- Boil water in a pan and add salt. Add green peas and boil for 5-7 minutes on until peas become soft. Drain and mash the peas slightly with a masher.
- Transfer the mashed peas to a bowl and add carrots, onion, fresh coriander, mint leaves, red chilli powder and salt. You may add chaat masala as well. Mix well and the topping is ready.
- To the uttapam batter add some water if required to get the right medium consistency as th batter may become slightly thick after resting. Now add baking soda and mix well.
- Heat a non-stick tawa and spread some batter. Spreadthe green peas topping generously. Add a little ghee and cook ok both the sides at medium flame.
- Same way make the remaining uttapam. This recipe will give you 6-7 uttapams of the size shown in the video.
- Serve in tiffin along with some chutney and let your child enjoy!
