Palestinians mourn their relatives after an Israeli airstrike on a charity kitchen in Gaza

“There is no truce. They bombed yesterday, and the day before, and they bombed again today.” Palestinians in Gaza are mourning loved ones after an Israeli airstrike hit a charity kitchen in Deir el-Balah, killing three people. Local reports say all three victims were aid workers. Footage from Al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza shows grieving families gathered around the bodies of relatives killed in the strike. One mourner, Youssef Rayan, questioned why civilians continue to be targeted, asking: “What is this young man’s fault?” The attack comes despite ongoing discussions around a ceasefire as bombardments have continued daily across the Gaza Strip. Israel’s genocide in Gaza has killed at least 72,760 Palestinians since 7 October 2023, according to Palestinian health authorities, including at least 871 people since the ceasefire began last October.
