Description

Curious how it feels to dive with flawless technique? Let’s dive in—1:1 coaching now open: https://www.michaelawerner.com/coaching —- Freediving Competition Reflection. This was meant to be a 200m+ dive. But on the day of the competition, I woke up feeling wrecked — barely any sleep, a splitting headache, and nausea. I seriously considered pulling out and saving my energy for the next day’s DNF. Instead, I changed my approach. Thinking about my twin boys who just turned 11, I announced 111m. I knew i could definitely do 111m so that was my goal. No expectations. No counting kicks. Just surrender. Soft power. Flow. What followed was the longest and most joyful competition dive of my life — 184m. No pain, no struggle. Just presence, trust, and movement. I surfaced with tears of joy. Not because of the number, but because of what I experienced, and what I learned. On Day 2, I was feeling much better—though still physically a bit weak—but I managed to complete a 140m DNF dive (50m pool). I had to work a lot harder for it than usual, which makes me even happier with the result! #freediving #dnf #apnea #breathhold #dyn #dynamicapnea #dynamicnofins #freediverlife #nofinsnoworries #competitionprep
