Australians who serve in the IDF should be investigated

Chris Sidoti warned in October that Australians who served with the IDF in Gaza could face criminal liability if war crimes, crimes against humanity or genocide are established. Now he has gone further. Writing in The Guardian, Sidoti says Australia should investigate and prosecute Australian citizens who served in the IDF since October 2023 for potential war crimes, crimes against humanity or genocide. Michael West Media has reported the question before. Australia has prosecuted Ben Roberts Smith. It has charged an Australian reservist over service in Ukraine. But what of Australians who returned from Gaza? Has one returned IDF soldier had their phone examined? Has one been questioned? Has the AFP executed one search warrant? The law exists. The question is whether Australia is willing to apply it.
