Senate Votes to End Shutdown. What Happens Next?

The U.S. Senate has voted to end the government shutdown by passing a measure Monday night that will fund the government through January 2026. The measure now goes to the House of Representatives, where it must be approved before it can be signed into law. Tens of thousands of people have gathered in central Israel for the funeral of an Israeli soldier whose body was held hostage in Gaza for 11 years. Hadar Goldin's family mounted a long campaign to bring his remains home. The 23-year-old was killed two hours after a ceasefire took effect in the 2014 war between Israel and Hamas. And Romanian authorities said drone fragments were found inside the country after Russian strikes on Ukrainian Danube River ports. Romanian radars detected drones near the NATO country's airspace just after midnight Tuesday. Breaches of Romanian airspace by drones has become more frequent in recent months.
