🌪️ SEVERE WEATHER OUTLOOK – TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 2026 (11:30Z Update) SPC Risk Level: SLIGHT (Level 2 of 5) Valid through June 2, 2026 6:00 PM CDT Tuesday 📍 Major Cities in Risk Zones 🟡 SLIGHT Risk: Bismarck, ND, Rapid City, SD, Cheyenne, WY, Sioux Falls, SD 🌪️ Tornado Risk Zones 🟡 5% Tornado Risk (isolated tornadoes possible with supercells): Bismarck, ND, Aberdeen, SD, Gillette, WY What the Percentages Mean A 10% tornado risk means there is a 1 in 10 chance of a tornado within 25 miles of a point. Isolated tornadoes are possible mainly with supercell storms in the northern Plains region. 📝 Overview A slow-moving cold front extends from northwest North Dakota into northeast Wyoming, serving as the focus for thunderstorm development this afternoon and evening. Ahead of the front, moist and unstable air with MLCAPE near 2000 J/kg and dewpoints in the upper 50s to low 60s will support storm growth. Shear is oriented parallel to the boundary, favoring an anafrontal and quickly linear storm mode across much of North Dakota, with some potential for supercells in south-central North Dakota through western South Dakota and eastern Wyoming. Further south, scattered storms are expected across the central and southern High Plains with weaker shear and more disorganized storm structures, producing isolated hail and damaging gusts. In the Southeast, a deepening upper trough and mesoscale boundaries will support numerous thunderstorms capable of damaging wind gusts from southern Georgia into Florida. ⛈️ Hazards Include 🧊 Large hail (isolated very large hail possible in northern Plains) 🌪️ A couple of tornadoes possible in northern Plains with supercells 💨 Damaging wind gusts (mainly northern Plains and Southeast) 🕓 Timeline 12 PM–4 PM CDT: Storm initiation along cold front and outflow boundaries in northern Plains and Southeast 4 PM–8 PM CDT: Peak threat for severe hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes in northern Plains 8 PM–12 AM CDT: Storms diminish with limited overnight MCS development in northern Plains 📌 Regional Notes 🟡 Northern Plains → ND, SD, WY: Large hail and damaging winds with isolated tornado potential 🟡 Central/Southern High Plains → KS, NE: Isolated hail and gusty winds with disorganized storms 🟡 Southeast → GA, FL, AL: Numerous storms with damaging wind gusts possible ⚠️ Stay Weather-Aware Residents in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming should monitor updates closely this afternoon and evening as storms capable of large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes develop along the cold front. Be prepared to take shelter if warnings are issued. #SevereWeather #SPC #ND #SD #WY #GA #FL #AL #TornadoRisk #Hail #DamagingWinds Keywords: Bismarck, ND, Rapid City, SD, Cheyenne, WY, Sioux Falls, SD, Aberdeen, SD, Gillette, WY ——————————— In-Vehicle Driver, Man-of-Action - @ReedTimmerWx Navigator, Man-of-Music - @localmanweatherofficial Engineer, Man-of-Iron - @willclay25 Studio Guy in the corner - @brianvotoole, but he doesn't really post anything. he's just laying in the cut, you know?
