Nihilism: The belief in nothing

What happens when God is no longer the source of meaning? For centuries, religion has given us answers about life, purpose, and the universe. But as Nietzsche observed, in the modern West, religion has lost its grip. “God is dead,” he declared. And with God gone, we face a void. No higher purpose, no afterlife, no divine plan. So… what’s the point of living? Nietzsche warned of this danger: nihilism. When belief in God collapses, people risk swinging to the other extreme—the belief in nothing.
