By exploiting a processing error within temporary folders and utilizing Alternate Data Streams, the malware gains the same system permissions as the local user to install backdoors and exfiltrate sensitive government data or intellectual property. Although RARLAB addressed the issue with the release of version 7.1 in July 2025, the exploit remains highly effective because many users fail to update utility software regularly.
