This is the perfect example of how to check for low compression in an engine. 😜🤣 #carguy #memes

Description

Most people check engine compression with a proper compression tester. The usual method is simple: remove the spark plugs, install a compression gauge in each cylinder, crank the engine, and compare the readings. That gives you a clear idea of how much pressure each cylinder is producing. but in this video, things were done a little differently. The spark plugs were removed from all four cylinders, but the coil packs were left sitting in place. When the engine was cranked, the compressed air escaping through the spark plug holes launched three of the coil packs into the air. Only the coil pack on Cylinder 3 barely moved, which suggested that cylinder wasn't building as much pressure as the others. In simple terms, lower compression means less force pushing air out of the spark plug hole. It's a funny and surprisingly visual way to spot a possible compression issue, but it's definitely not the recommended diagnostic method. A proper compression test or leak-down test is still the best way to confirm what's really happening inside the engine. There's also a chance that launching coil packs across the engine bay like this could damage them, so it's not exactly a risk-free experiment. 😅 Do you think this is a genius backyard diagnostic trick or a great way to buy new coil packs? What are your thoughts? 🤔💭 (📹 Credits for Original Owner: @plymouthautocare/IG) #HydraCulture #CarCulture #EngineCompression #MechanicLife #CarRepair #EngineDiagnostics #CarGuys #Automotive #WorkshopLife #CylinderCompression
