Description
Eazy was one of a kind.
Brilliant, intense, wildly talented and completely unforgettable, she became a huge part of the absoluteDogs world through her love of games, learning and living life at full speed. Whether she was herding sheep, wowing with her Instant Down and Middle on the Move, teaching students, or simply lighting up the camera, Eazy gave everything 100%.
At just seven years old, Eazy was diagnosed with a serious condition linked to megaesophagus and a mass in her chest. What followed was an impossibly difficult decision, one so many dog owners fear having to make.
This video is an honest, raw and deeply personal conversation about Eazy’s final days, the guilt and uncertainty that can come with deciding “when is the right time”, and what a peaceful, planned and kind goodbye can look like.
We know this subject can feel incredibly heavy, but it is also one of the greatest responsibilities we have as dog owners and animal lovers. Our hope in sharing Eazy’s story is that it helps someone else feel less alone, less frightened, or more prepared when facing a similar journey with their own dog.
Inside this video, Lauren talks openly about:
• Knowing when it was time to say goodbye
• Navigating guilt and difficult decisions
• Working closely with a trusted vet team
• Why cooperative care matters, even in the hardest moments
• Creating a peaceful, stress-free goodbye
• The difference between a traumatic death and a kind death
• The importance of planning ahead and having conversations early
Eazy’s final morning was full of the things she loved most: her favourite foods, her favourite people, her favourite place. She was calm, safe, deeply loved, and surrounded by trust right until the very end.
As painful as this story is, there is also something deeply beautiful within it. Sometimes the final gift we can give our dogs is a goodbye that is peaceful, gentle and free from suffering.
If you are currently facing this decision with your own dog, our hearts are with you 🤍
