Description

*originally recorded on 11-25-25* Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights and a WCH mechanical bell. Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x24 inch lights and a Modern Industries mechanical bell. As M574 was meeting at least one southbound up to my north, I decided to hop over to this crossing on the other side of Smiths Grove to record whatever was coming south. Sure enough, after a little while of waiting, I was able to catch my third train of the day: CSX L412 flying through Smiths Grove with a pair of ES44AHs for power. Thankfully, nothing has changed to this crossing since I last recorded it back in 2023. Nice to see that both of the mechanical bells here are still going strong, IIRC this is the only gateless crossing on the Mainline Sub with a mechanical bell pair still. As you can probably see, the closer signal here gets blown around a lot by the passing train as well. https://www.rxrsignals.com/Kentucky/R-Z/Smiths_Grove/Sunset/ If you like my videos, feel free to leave me a tip on Ko-Fi!
