South Island lashed as severe weather moves south

Wild weather is hammering parts of the country, flooding homes and forcing evacuations after yesterday’s heavy rain and strong winds in the central and lower North Island. The severe weather has now shifted to the South Island, where a State of Emergency is in place for Banks Peninsula.
