Description

Over the past year we built this house from the ground up and videoed the entire process. And now it’s finally done, and we want to give you a full tour. So welcome and come on in. One of my favorite things on this house is the arched entryway. Off the foyer to the right is my wife’s office- she designed this house and tried as much as possible to take advantage of natural light. Once I exit the bathroom and head back the hallway we have a small coat closet to the right. Here to the left there’s a door for an elevator. We put a shaft all the way from the basement up to the second story. To the right we have the stairs that go up to the second level and then behind that door is how you go down to the basement. We had our cabinet company order in all this maple and spray it for us, and then our trim carpenter installed it. I think it’s beautiful. We installed built-ins on both sides of the fireplace. And I love the view out of these tall windows. Here you can see what it looks like out on the deck on the other side of the windows. The ceilings in this room are 14’ high and we’re planning to install maple beams in here at some point. Next, we have the kitchen. This massive island is kind of the center of our home. There’s tons of storage everywhere, including all these doors that open under the bar side of the island. Off the kitchen we have the dining room, this is also where the door is that leads out onto the deck. There you can see the pantry, and straight ahead we have the laundry room. Right here is a little desk area off the garage it’s just a place to put mail, keys, and charge phones. We use this so much already. Next, we have this large 3 car garage with CHI full view aluminum doors. Along with all the windows, they let in a ton of natural light. And then this space right here is actually suspended over a vault we have below, I think you could park an extra car here so really this is more like a 4-car garage. Alright, so let’s head back out of the garage into the primary bedroom. Here we have the primary bath. Quartzite countertops, I love the gold fixtures and hardware, again soft-close drawers. Having two vanities is a game changer- no more fighting my wife for space. There’s a pocket door to separate the toilet area, and inside is a tall linen cabinet with space for two laundry hampers. Next let’s head upstairs. Here you can see the Hubbardton Forge chandelier above the landing. I really like that my wife had shiplap and the risers painted Kendall Charcoal. Ok now that we’re upstairs- straight ahead is the elevator door Now we have this large rec room area with amazing views looking out to the mountains. We’re going to use this room to watch TV. We can fit a 100” TV right there, and we put shelves below for all the components. And we put wires up in the ceiling for speakers. My wife designed this area for snacks and drinks. That way we can have our popcorn when we’re watching a movie. There’s 3 bedrooms upstairs. This middle room is kind of cool because it has a little dormer out the front. And then there’s a bathroom attached. Just take a look at this tile surround- it looks amazing with the tub. And these framed mirrors that our cabinet company built just tie it all together. Here we have the second bedroom with a vaulted ceiling. All of the bedrooms in this house have large walk-in closets and we made sure the rooms are well lit. Next, on the other side of the house above the garage we have this massive bonus room suite. You can see there’s an offset area to the left for future day beds and two walk-in closets on the right. We’re mainly planning to use this bedroom for guests when they come to visit. It’s like its own separate living quarters. There’s a great view of the mountains out the dormer windows. Now let’s check out the bathroom. It’s probably one of my favorite bathrooms in the whole house. I love the freestanding tub. It’s kind of modern and yet old-timey at the same time. And then look at this shower. The design is just so cool. Again Brizo faucets. Off to the side of the shower there’s a toilet area and across from that there’s a nice linen closet. Then look at this Zebra quartzite – I think this is wild, I absolutely love it. Alright, let’s get to the fun part. We’re going to head downstairs to the basement. Most of the basement is unfinished and we’re planning to finish it out and show you guys the process. But let’s head to the basement garage. Along with the three-car above we have a two-car garage here with it’s own separate driveway. This is my workshop and where I will store all of my tools. Finally, we have the vault room with our Fort Knox door. We’re planning to finish this room out in the next month or so. Thanks so much for supporting our channel as we built this house. We’ve got lots more videos on the way and a new project we will be announcing soon. @hausplans #building #home #new #design #construction #realestate #house #tour #contractor
