Description
Parañaque City
March 30, 2026
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the opening of the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway, also known as CAVITEX C5 Link Segment 3B, in Parañaque City on March 30, 2026. This major infrastructure project aims to reduce travel time between Parañaque City and Taguig City to just 15 minutes, providing motorists with a faster, more efficient route across southern Metro Manila and Cavite.
The President conducted a windshield inspection of the two-kilometer stretch together with several Cabinet members and executives from Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC). The newly opened Segment 3B is part of the C5 Link Expressway Project, a critical connector linking CAVITEX to C5 Road and creating a seamless route among key southern cities in the metropolis, including Taguig, Makati, Pasay, Parañaque and Las Piñas, as well as Bacoor and Kawit in Cavite. There is a one-month toll-free period to support a smoother transition in traffic flow.
The 7.7-kilometer CAVITEX C5 Link was built by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) and joint venture partners, the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) and CAVITEX Infrastructure Corporation (CIC), and will be managed by PEA Tollway Corporation (PEATC). It aims to provide efficient access to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and C5 through major interchanges at the R-1 Expressway (Coastal Road), Dr. A. Santos Avenue (Sucat Road), and C.P. Garcia Avenue (C5 Road), serving around 36,000 motorists daily.
The project aligns with the Administration’s wider infrastructure agenda to improve connectivity, enhance traffic management, and facilitate the efficient movement of people, goods, and services throughout Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
