While this video shows a well-deserved moment of celebration in a London, it comes after one of the most important and solemn days for the Royal Navy's Submarine Service. ​Today, Saturday, 1, November 2025, these officers were at Westminster Abbey for the Annual Submariner's Remembrance Service. ​This special service is where the "Silent Service" gathers to honour the thousands of submariners who have given their lives in service. They pay tribute to their comrades who are on "eternal patrol"—a term for those lost at sea, whose submarines became their final resting place. ​This commemoration is traditionally held the weekend before the national Remembrance Sunday. This is done so the "Silent Service" can come together for their own unique commemoration, and then also join the rest of the nation for the main service at the Cenotaph next week. ​So, after a day of profound reflection and honouring their lost shipmates, this gathering is a powerful display of the deep bonds of comradeship that define the Submarine Service. ❤️🇬🇧
