In todays video, we are exploring the long forgotten remains of the abandoned Sandburg Mall in Galesburg, Illinois. A once bustling shopping center that now feels like something straight out of the Backrooms. Opened in 1975, this mall was once home to big name anchors like Sears, JCPenney, Bergner’s, and Kmart. But after years of economic decline, it was left to rot, and by 2018, the mall was completely shut down. What’s left behind is a haunting, decaying shell of what used to be… collapsing ceilings, mold-covered floors, flickering lights, and the eerie silence that only places like this can hold. In this video, I take you deep inside the abandoned corridors, service hallways, and forgotten storefronts. This place has definitely seen better days... and maybe a few things that shouldn’t be seen at all.
