Spicy Desi Chicken Curry | Country Chicken Curry Recipe | Natukodi Chicken Gravy | Desi Chicken Gravy | Country Chicken Gravy | Country Chicken Curry Village Style | Natu Kodi Chicken Curry | Spicy Country Chicken Curry Ingredients for Desi Chicken Curry: (Tsp-Teaspoon; Tbsp-Tablespoon) - Country/ Desi Chicken - 1 Kg (curry cut with bones) For Marination: - Red Chilli powder- 4 tsp - Turmeric powder- 1 tsp - Salt-2 tsp - Groundnut oil - 2 tbsp Roasted spice/masala powder: - Coriander seeds-3 tsp (4 gms) - Green cardamom-3 - Cloves-4 - Cinnamon -2 piece - Khopra (desiccated coconut), cut into pieces - 2 tbsp (23 gms ) - Khus khus-1.25 tsp (poppy seeds) - Red Chillies-3 - Kashmiri chillies-3 - Garlic cloves with skin-6 Tempering: - Green cardamom-6 - Cloves-6 - Cinnamon-4 - Black peppercorns-12 Other Ingredients: - Onions chopped- 4 medium (300-320 gms) - Green chillies, slit-6 - Curry leaves- 30-40 - Tomato chopped- 2 medium (150 gms ) - Groundnut oil-7 tbsp Preparation: - Marinate the chicken with the ingredients and set aside for around 60 mins. - Now for the spice powder mix, preheat the pan and add all the ingredients mentioned. - Dry roast on low heat for around 3 mins till the spices are light browned and emits an aroma. Let it cool and then grind to a powder. - Use the entire powder for 1 kg chicken. - Chop the onions and slit the green chillies. Process: - Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add the whole spices for tempering. - Now add the chopped onion. Give a stir and then add the green chillies and curry leaves. - Mix and fry for 8 mins on medium heat till light brown in colour. - Now add the ginger garlic paste, mix and fry on low heat for 2 mins till raw smell is gone. - Now add the chopped tomatoes and 1/4 tsp salt. Mix and cook on medium heat for around 4-5 mins till soft. - Now add the marinated chicken and cook on medium heat for 7 mins till oil separates. - Now add all of the roasted and powdered masala/spice powder and mix it well. - Cook on low heat for around 7 mins till the masala is cooked and oil separates. - Now add around 600 ml of water, mix and pressure cook for 6-7 whistles (total 18-20 mins) - To pressure cook, cook on high heat till 1st whistle (should take around 6-7 mins) - Then reduce heat to low and cook on low heat for another 6 whistles.
