This is the second well in the block confirming hydrocarbons, marking a significant milestone for India’s energy exploration and security. Drilled about 15 km off the east coast of the Andaman Islands at a depth of 355 meters, the well has begun producing gas after initial testing. Analysis is ongoing to determine the gas composition, calorific value, and origin.
