A Big Milestone for Imara 🦒💛

Earlier this week, female Masai giraffe calf Imara stepped outside into her outdoor habitat (and the big world around her) for the very first time - exploring new sights, sounds, and spaces alongside three-time mom, Mstari. Moments like these are built on trust, patience, and cooperative care. Through positive reinforcement training and daily bonding, our Wildlife Care team works closely with giraffes to help them feel comfortable and confident in their environment. Every interaction is based on choice and opportunity, allowing Imara and Mstari to participate willingly and at their own pace. As ambassadors for their wild counterparts, we are incredibly proud to care for both Imara and Mstari while helping connect our members and guests to the importance of giraffe conservation. If you happen to spot Imara outside on the guest pathway, and during your next journey through the Africa Savanna, we kindly ask that you keep voices to a minimum.
