Wahine Water Polo readies for Senior Night on Friday

The sixth-ranked University of Hawai‘i water polo team will close out their regular-season home schedule Friday with Senior Night against Cal State Fullerton at Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex. Hawai‘i enters the match undefeated in Big West Conference play at 5-0 and riding a 25-match conference winning streak dating back to the 2023 season. The Rainbow Wahine will also honor a seven-member senior class that has helped elevate the program during a period of sustained success. Head coach James Robinson said the group holds special significance, as many of the seniors arrived alongside him when he took over the program. “Yeah, a lot of these seniors, they came here the same time I did. So their first year with this program was also my first year,” Robinson said. “To see the growth out of all of them, but especially the ones that I came in with, has been super special. The last couple of years have been huge for this program with the results and how we finished every season. For them to be a part of that has been awesome.” Senior attacker Roni Perlman said the moment brings a mix of emotions as the team prepares for its final home appearance. “It’s exciting. It’s definitely emotional and we’re all pretty excited,” Perlman said. “We want to go out with a bang, have some fun, take it all in and just appreciate what we’ve got here.” Senior utility Tara Logan reflected on her four-year journey with the program. “It’s been such an incredible journey,” Logan said. “We’ve had amazing, historical seasons throughout my time here. Every year is different, but the goal is always pretty similar.
