Not Cruelty, But Care | Sharu’s Maggot Wound Rescue by RRSA India

Many people misunderstood this situation and believed that this dog was tied due to cruelty. But the truth is very different. RRSA India received a call about an injured dog named Sharu. At that time, their rescue ambulance was busy handling another emergency. The rescuer requested nearby people to keep an eye on Sharu so he would not run away before help arrived. A kind lady who was already caring for Sharu gently tied him only for safety, not cruelty. When the rescue team reached the spot, they found a severe maggot wound on Sharu’s neck, likely caused by a small untreated injury that worsened over time. Sharu was in pain and fear, which made him aggressive. With patience and calm handling, the rescuer safely secured him and shifted him to the ambulance. Immediate first aid was provided, and he was taken to the RRSA India shelter. At the shelter, Sharu was given rest, food, and proper medical care. The veterinary team removed maggots and dead tissue, cleaned the wound thoroughly, applied medicines, and continued regular treatment with love and care. After one month of dedicated treatment, Sharu completely recovered. His wound healed beautifully, and the same caring lady later came forward to take him home.
