Celebrating our 2024 Community Grant Recipients: Plus Sports Victoria

At Australia Post, we’re proud to support Plus Sports Victoria with a 2024 Community Grant. This inclusive lunchtime initiative, run at Victoria University in Footscray, creates a safe and welcoming space for local community members—particularly adults from refugee and migrant backgrounds—who may be experiencing financial or cultural stress. Each week, participants come together for friendly games of badminton, pickleball and table tennis, building connection and community through sport. Our 2024 grant also helped to train volunteers in Mental Health First Aid, ensuring they’re equipped to provide support, spot the signs when someone’s not feeling okay, and create a positive, supportive environment. It’s grassroots programs like this that strengthen community bonds, foster wellbeing, and show the power of connection.
