Welcome to Part 5 of our Gilgit-Baltistan journey on two wheels! 🏍️ We began from Hotel Dream Palace, Naran Valley, and rode through lush green mountains alongside the Kunhar River, breathing in fresh alpine air, as we headed up toward Lulusar Lake — the source of this river. The road opens up to sweeping curves and sharp ascents that push both rider and machine. Then came the real test: climbing toward Babusar Top. Every twist, every gradient, every breathtaking vantage point — we captured it all. Naran Valley 📍 Destination: Babusar Top Pass 🏍️ Bike: Yamaha YZF-R1 (2011, Crossplane) 🏍️ Bike: Power Sultan 250 (2020, Modded) 🌍 Geo-Locations & Background / Details **Naran Valley & Hotel Dream Palace (starting point for this leg)** Naran is a town in the upper Kaghan Valley, at an elevation around 2,409 meters (≈ 7,900 ft). The Hotel Dream Palace sits in Naran Bazar, which is central to the valley’s infrastructure: close to restaurants, river views, and the main road onward toward Babusar. its location in Naran Bazar ensures you were in the heart of the valley.) Naran is a popular tourist hub in summer, serving as a launching point for many high-altitude excursions (Saif-ul-Muluk, Babusar, etc.). **Kunhar River** The Kunhar River flows through the Kaghan Valley, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, northern Pakistan. It is approximately 177 km long and is fed by glacial melt, mountain streams, and glacial lakes. Its waters originate from Lulusar Lake, near Babusar Pass, and flow downstream through Jalkhand, Naran, Kaghan, and beyond until its confluence with the Jhelum River. Along its route, the river cuts through green valleys, offering scenic views, trout fishing, and rafting opportunities. **Lulusar Lake** Lulusar Lake lies on the route from Naran to Babusar Pass, at an elevation of about 3,410 meters (11,190 ft) above sea level. It is often considered the primary headwater of the Kunhar River. The lake is about 48 km from Naran via the N-15 road. Its calm, reflective surface, surrounded by mountain peaks and meadows, makes it a serene spot for rest, photography, and contemplation. **Babusar Top (Pass)** Babusar Top (Babusar Pass) lies at the upper end of Kaghan Valley and serves as a high mountain pass connecting to the northern regions. The altitude of Babusar Top is often placed around 4,173 meters (13,691 ft). It marks a transition zone: beyond this point begins more rugged high-altitude terrain toward Gilgit-Baltistan.
