Grand Stade de Tanger is back — bigger and fully FIFA 2030-ready. 📹 @equipedumaroc After months of expansion, the stadium reopens this Friday during Morocco vs Mozambique, now transformed into one of Africa’s largest arenas with 75,500 seats (up from 44,500). As the flagship of Tanger’s 74-hectare Sports City, the upgraded venue features 3 tiers of blue-and-white stands, new VIP/VVIP areas, 142 private boxes, and a 210-seat hospitality tribune. Its pitch is Africa’s first hybrid natural turf, built for better drainage and player safety. Inside, the stadium now includes 4 locker rooms, cryotherapy spaces, warm-up halls, massage areas, coaches’ rooms, and a 500 m² mixed zone. Media facilities have also been elevated with a dedicated press tribune, a 210-seat press room, expanded workspaces, and official zones for CAF & FIFA. Security and tech upgrades include a VOC operations center, 900 cameras with facial recognition, two 220 m² giant screens, 700+ meters of LED displays, and a high-performance sound & broadcast system.
