RITUALS (1977) — If you go down in the woods today, you're in for a big surprise...

Five big-city doctors—Harry, Mitzi, Martin, Abel, and D.J.—head deep into the untamed Canadian wilderness for their annual weekend of camping, drinking, and male bonding in a remote area known as the Cauldron of the Moon. What is meant to be a relaxing escape from their high-stress surgical careers quickly spirals into a desperate fight for survival when all five pairs of their boots are mysteriously stolen from their campsite overnight. stranded hundreds of miles from civilization, the group decides that D.J. will hike ahead to a distant hydro-dam to get help while the rest slowly hobble behind him. However, they soon realize they are not alone. A hidden, unseen predator is hunting them, turning the dense bush into a lethal minefield of animal traps and deadly tricks designed to ground them down one by one. As gruesome tragedy strikes and their numbers dwindle, paranoia sets in. The group begins to wonder if they are random targets, or if they are paying a horrific price for a fatal medical mistake from their past. Driven to pure exhaustion and psychological collapse, the remaining doctors find themselves trapped in a sadistic, ritualistic game of cat-and-mouse. To survive the nightmare, they must push past their own inner demons and face a heavily scarred, vengeful maniac who will not stop until they are all butchered.
