The crescent-shaped Naini Lake stretches through the centre of the town as low mountain fog gradually drifts across the surrounding hillsides. Colourful houses, hotels, and colonial-era buildings are closely arranged on the steep slopes of Ayarpatta and Sher-ka-Danda hills, backed by dense Himalayan forests. On the lake, traditional wooden rowing boats carrying tourists move peacefully across the calm water.
