Last week, the findings of the largest maternity inquiry in NHS history found that more than 500 mothers and babies died or suffered needless harm at a “toxic” NHS trust in Nottingham, highlighting widespread failings in NHS maternity care at hospitals across the UK. With results of a further review examining concerns at 12 more NHS trusts across the country set to be published today, we’re joined by mum Sophia Stanford, whose own traumatic birth experience left her emotionally traumatised and physically scarred her daughter for life.
